The deification of Dr Anthony Fauci – and all scientists since the pandemic began – is dangerous.
This is a point we have made here often at The Breakdown.
Scientists should not be in charge. Politicians should be in charge because they are the ones we have the greatest influence over. They answer to us and they can obfuscate and dissemble as much as they like, but we get a say. We have ultimate power.
They are also responsible for everything and we can hold them to account even if it’s unfair for things they are innocent of. We have that power. And we can be brutal masters. Good.
Bureaucrats, not so much.
They are shielded. They also have a much narrower purview.
Take COVID-19 as an example.
Politicians have outsourced the response to ‘experts’. Especially epidemiologists.
This is a disaster.
Epidemiologists are only concerned with the virus. Their focus is too narrow. Which is why they should never have been relied on.
As CS Lewis wrote:
Hey, Waz, this link’s for you!
Why does COVID-19 hit blacks harder?
This may be the reason – but read the whole thing.
Spoiler alert: it’s not systemic racism.
The authors of the new work say the chimeric experiments in 2015 were also found to impact sweet and bitter taste receptors and could account for why people lose their sense of taste during Covid.
They even speculate that because the groups used cell lines from Henrietta Lacks – the African-American woman whose cancer cells are the source of the first immortalised human cell line – it may have enabled the virus to become more infectious to black populations.
Vanity Fair’s investigation of the lab leak theory
While this doesn’t come to a conclusion about the lab leak theory, Vanity Fair (yes, the up-market mag) does expose some extraordinary evidence. Like this:
for most of the past year, the lab-leak scenario was treated not simply as unlikely or even inaccurate but as morally out-of-bounds. In late March, former Centers for Disease Control director Robert Redfield received death threats from fellow scientists after telling CNN that he believed COVID-19 had originated in a lab. “I was threatened and ostracized because I proposed another hypothesis,” Redfield told Vanity Fair. “I expected it from politicians. I didn’t expect it from science.”
With President Trump out of office, it should be possible to reject his xenophobic agenda and still ask why, in all places in the world, did the outbreak begin in the city with a laboratory housing one of the world’s most extensive collection of bat viruses, doing some of the most aggressive research? …
With President Trump out of office, it should be possible to reject his xenophobic agenda? This is exactly what the Chinese Communist Party wants – they want all criticism of China to be seen as racist.
This is how you stifle debate. Yes, you could even say it is “political correctness gone mad”.
Is he a doctor or a model?
Dr Anthony Fauci and his bioethicist wife, Dr Christine Grady, were featured in InStyle magazine.
Perhaps she could teach him some ethics.
Of course, that’s only from InStyle magazine. What would they know.
Time should know better.
But then, they famously made Hitler man of the year in 1936 so they aren’t the sharpest tools in the shed.
The sycophancy was contagious, though.
The left was all-in on the love-in. And it skewed their already dodgy judgment.
Bet you didn’t see this coming
If you’re a man and you were sentenced to prison, would you rather serve it in a men’s prison or a women’s prison?
Put it this way: would you rather be among the strongest, most dominant in a prison or would you rather be average?
You’d rather be top dog. So no wonder men are choosing to serve time in women’s prisons – they don’t even have to justify it! From The Australian:
Crazy California laws occasionally go national. Take SB 132, which took effect in January. It allows transgender-identified male state prison inmates to transfer into women’s prisons based on “individual preference” — no hormones, surgery or time spent living as the opposite sex required.
Microsoft bans Tiananmen Tank Man
This image of the lone man standing in front of Chinese tanks in 1989 was not just one of the great iconic images of the 20th century, it is symbolic of the fight the individual has against the state.
No wonder the Chinese hate it.
No wonder a company like Microsoft, which is eager to make its mark in China, accidentally/on purpose banned the image and then blames human error:
Microsoft has blamed human error after its search engine, Bing, blocked image and video results for the phrase “tank man” – a reference to the iconic image of a lone protester facing down tanks during the 1989 protests in Tiananmen Square – on the 32nd anniversary of the military crackdown.
References to the pro-democracy protest movement have long been censored in the People’s Republic of China (PRC), where the government maintains strict control over the internet, but the censorship by Bing extended to users outside China’s “great firewall”.
Microsoft said the issue was “due to an accidental human error and we are actively working to resolve this”.
Smaller search engines such as DuckDuckGo that license results from Microsoft faced similar issues around “tank man” searches and said they expected a fix soon.
Human error? Bullshit.
This is aimed at preschoolers …
Apparnetly. that’s hen they should learn about the “queer community” and pansexuals.
