Bob Carr says he isn’t a useful idiot for the Chinese propagandists
But it kinda looks that way, according to the Attorney-General Christian Porter.
As we’ve reported at The Breakdown before, he certainly carries a lot of water for them.
Labour’s share of profits at long-run average
Oh, so that means we’ve been lied to. By a lot of people.
Nothing new then. As th AFR report:
Adjusting for measurement anomalies for housing, self-employment and capital depreciation shows the overall non-housing labour share of income was around its long-term average in 2016.
Labour’s share of income experienced a larger decline during the mining boom and recovered quicker after the resources boom busted, according to a former economist at the federal Department of Jobs and Small Business, Declan Trott, in the Economic Society of Australia’s Economic Papers article.

Yes he’s crass, but Sam Newman has a point
Transgender women (ie, born male) will always have a competitive advantage over women when it comes to sport.
This is a fact.
Actually, men seem to be a lot better at being women than women being women … but let’s ignore that for the moment.
OK. Now, let’s ignore it. (You have no idea how irksome that typo is!)
Sam Newman couldn’t ignore it, and dressed in drag (he actually loves that) to make the point. He said he dressed as he did to promote his podcast and try and pretend he was going to transgender into being an older female so he could compete in women’s senior events to “prove the point of how stupid it is.”
He said it was clear McKinnon had an “absolute advantage” over her competitors.
“She won the world cycling championship and she’s a transgender person and you’ve got two real women standing next to her who came second and third,” he said.
Wagner responded to English media commentator Katie Hopkins’ online swipe at McKinnon by declaring it was not fair that McKinnon was able to compete at all.
Hopkins also declared it was “febrile madness” for the UCI to sanction McKinnon’s participation.
McKinnon hit out at the criticism immediately following her victory both on social media and in interviews.
She told velonews.com she enjoyed no physical advantage over her competitors despite being born a male.
“I think there is absolutely no evidence that I have an unfair advantage,” McKinnon said.
“People who oppose transgender inclusion in sport put us in the double bind. It’s the “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” scenario.
“If I win, they attribute it to me being trans and having an unfair advantage. If I lose, the same people think I must not be good anyway. People will never attribute my winning to hard work which is what I think I deserve.”
Yep. Doesn’t look like there’s an advantage from here.
For clarity – this was the WOMENS world championships.
I repeat. Women’s.
Congratulations to the brave faces of silver & bronze. The world is gripped by a febrile madness. pic.twitter.com/P6VkaNFeyy

This is so silly even the great Martina Navratilova has fallen prey to the PC police.
Yes, that Martina. The g-a-y one.
Last year we said this was child abuse …
Nothing has changed since we reported on Greta Thunberg on 6 December last year. It was right then and it remains correct today.
Using her a pawn for climate action is child abuse.
This piece on Greta Thunberg in The Guardian makes it clear that she is a puppet and not capable of making decisions.
So let’s repeat: this is abuse. Even if they think the cause is just.
Facial recognition camera at casinos the thin end of the wedge
The croupier caught stealing the chip has nothing at all – nothing – to do with facial recognition cameras.
He would not have been caught with that technology. He was caught with old tech that had nothing to do with his identity.
Here’s a shot, handily circulated by casino to strengthen thier case.
So why does the article conflate the two things? To soften us up.
And when they are shown to reduce violence, they will be coming to a street near you.
Remind our politicians: 1984 was a warning, not an instruction manual.
Liza Minnelli (b 1946)
A spectacular live performance from Liza with a Z choreographed by the tyrannical Bob Fosse.
For all the horrific tabloid garbage her life has been from day one, remember that she is one of the most versatile performers we’ve ever seen.
And taking on We Are the Champions with Queen takes a giant pair:
