Australia is begging the European Commission for access to the AstraZeneca vaccine and has resorted to soft power bribery – give us 3.8 million doses and we will use the first million in PNG.

While this seems like putting Australia second, a crisis to our north will hit Austraia hard. It seems someone in DFAT ahs finally figured out how to play the game – the question is whether the lever of PNG is stronger than European self interest.

The great Tommy Raudonikis

Many obits were written today for Tommy Raudonikis – one of the great hard men of league and a giant of a personality.

This obit is epic and captures the man. It is worth your time and it will take you back to a time when men were men (and it is a shock that they lived to 70).

Wow, so the experts were wrong about this too

Is there anything – literally, anything – they get right?

In this case, they screwed up the growth forecasts. Shocker:

The Australian economy is predicted to rebound faster than expected from the coronavirus recession, reaching its pre-pandemic size within weeks, but it will continue to be supported by record-low interest rates for years.

As the Reserve Bank signalled growing concern about the surge in house prices, the International Monetary Fund on Wednesday morning forecast the Australian economy to expand 4.5 per cent this year after shrinking by 2.4 per cent in 2020.

Trump’s wall is bad, but Biden’s is good

Kind of like two legs bad, four legs good … until the pigs learned to walk on two legs.

If everyone was held to the same standard the world would be a better place, but the left is never held to the same standard, so when Biden says he is thinking of plugging some gaps in Trump’s wall, the media shrugs and moves on.

They houldn’t.

This is a big deal. So is the fact that Biden has seven-times the number of children in cages as Trump did.

Here’s what WaPo had to say in 2019 about Trump:

Held in grim steel-and-concrete cells built for adults, these young people are spending an average of 107 hours awaiting transfer to an HHS-run shelter, well over the 72-hour legal limit, the data shows. The largest number of unaccompanied minors held this way during the Trump administration was about 2,600 in June 2019, according to congressional testimony and two former Customs and Border Protection officials who were involved in handling that crisis.”

And here’s what ABC (US) reported last week:

“As of a Tuesday report, there are 17,641 unaccompanied migrant minors in government care — 5,606 children are in CBP custody and 12,035 in the care of the Department of Human and Health Services.”

No wonder no one trusts he media. They are activist hacks and they deserve to be mocked and disbelieved.
